Asheville-based fine artists Amanda McLenon and Jonathan Bidwell in front of Amanda's original paintings of large birds with 23 karat gold leaf accents

Asheville Fine Art Gallery is a contemporary gallery and working studio space founded by artist partners Amanda McLenon and Jonathan Bidwell. Located in Asheville, North Carolina’s historic Cotton Mill Building in the River Arts District, the gallery was created from a shared vision of building an approachable yet sophisticated space for contemporary painting, exhibitions, and creative community.

Following the impact of Hurricane Helene, Amanda and Jonathan’s recovery and rebuilding process organically led to the idea of opening of Asheville Fine Art Gallery. The Cotton Mill Building, long recognized as part of Asheville’s original River Arts District, has supported generations of artists and makers. Today, the space continues that creative legacy while offering a renewed environment for fine art exhibitions and artistic collaboration.

The gallery’s restored heart pine flooring, exposed during the storm, reflects both the history and resilience of the building. Large industrial windows fill the studio with natural light, creating an atmosphere that connects visitors to the character of the River Arts District and the surrounding community.

Amanda and Jonathan plan to exhibit their own work alongside regional and international representational artists, and to host future educational experiences and retreats focused on creative practice and community engagement.

You can visit Asheville Fine Art Gallery at 122 Riverside Dr., Studio 13, Asheville, North Carolina, located on the main floor of the Cotton Mill Building.

Gallery hours: Wednesday-Sunday, 10am-4pm.
