Asheville Fine Art Gallery is the dream project of artist partners, Amanda McLenon and Jonathan Bidwell. Both career fine artists in their own right, they have both always had the vision of an approachable but sophisticated gallery and working studio space. The idea of creating a gallery together happened organically, and their recovery from Hurricane Helene is culminating in the opening of AFA Gallery in the historic Cotton Mill building. An icon of the original River Arts District in Asheville, NC, this magical space has supported a long lineage of artists and makers. The original heart pine flooring, exposed by the storm, has been strikingly refinished. When you enter the space, you are greeted with natural light from the huge windows and a sense of the history of the building and the district.

Amanda and Jonathan have plans to exhibit their work in this space alongside other regional and international representational artists. They will also host workshops and retreats- with more details coming soon.

You can find the gallery in the historic Cotton Mill Building, 122 Riverside Drive, Asheville, NC. Studio 13 is the center space on the main floor, accessed through the middle door.

Open Wednesday-Sunday 11-4 starting in April. By appointment and by chance until then!
