Amanda McLenon

Amanda McLenon is a full-time artist based in Asheville, NC. Amanda began her professional career as a high school biology teacher, before going on to get her masters degree in Charleston, SC for marine biology. It was here that she first began experimenting with paint and discovered a natural talent for visual art. Her early work led to invitations to create official artwork for fishing tournaments, and in 2012 she received the Lowcountry Artist of the Year Award. Today, Amanda creates large-scale oil paintings inspired by preening birds, light, and a reverence for the natural world, often incorporating 23-karat gold, copper, and silver leaf through the process of metal gilding. Her paintings are expressive, luminous, and full of unique design elements. You can view more of Amanda’s work here.

Jonathan Bidwell

Jonathan Bidwell is an Asheville-based painter and multidisciplinary artist whose work spans fine art, graphic design, and large-scale mural projects. The son of an architect, Jonathan developed an early foundation in drawing and composition, and has pursued painting and visual art from a young age. He studied at East Carolina University, and has worked across multiple creative disciplines throughout his career. Under the umbrella of Asheville Fine Art, Jonathan is devoting his time and energy to a recent emphasis on naturalistic realism in oil and watercolor, exploring liminal spaces with a quiet style and invisible brush strokes. You can view more of Jonathan’s work here.
